In the current economy, we are all being asked to do more with less. For me that means supporting an increasing number of external resources. I am accomplishing this using Citrix via either a RAS Portal or through an SSL VPN connection depending on whether the user in question is a WK employee or a contractor. I was curious whether anyone else was working on remote access to Contenta. Anyone is welcome to comment or rebut.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackAt Grafikon we are very pleased with our NX remote connection (http://www.nomachine.com/).
It is very easy to install.
Easy to administer.
Extremely easy to setup (ss it is running over ssh, it only needs 1 port to be patched through the company firewall)
The NX server acts as a gateway and allows the client to make different kind of connections within your LAN (RDP, VNC, KDE, GNOME, etc..)
Above all, it is very fast. Even when you need to run the Xyview remotely.
And you can try it out for free (limited to 2 users).
At Sterling Commerce, we use Citrix access to Contenta, and some other apps such as Frame & XMetaL Author. Overall it works well. It has really helped our India team move to Contenta, as before Citrix their checkouts took very long over the network. Another benefit is its much easier to update the client in one location, rather than to update numerous desktop clients.
We run the Contenta application on one server, the Contenta client (and the editors) on two Citrix servers to balance workload, and Contenta Web for DITA on another server. All material is checked to mapped network drives. With all these servers, the key is to keep your OS in sync.
